Terms & Conditions — Blacked Out Window Tinting

Last updated: October 2025

1. General Terms of Service

By booking an appointment or using any service provided by Blacked Out Window Tinting (“we”, “our”, “us”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before confirming your booking.

Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings must be confirmed before arrival.
  • Deposits (if applicable) are non-refundable.
  • Balance payments are due upon completion of work.
  • By booking, you confirm you have read and accepted these terms.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • We do not provide refunds for completed tinting work relating to:
    • Matrix lines appearing
    • Pre-existing scratches, marks, or imperfections that become visible after tinting
  • If you wish to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

2. Service Disclaimers

Drying Period

  • Your tint requires up to 30 days to fully dry and cure.
  • Temporary haze, bubbles, or uneven appearance may occur — this is normal and will clear as the film cures.
  • Please do not roll windows down for 3–5 days or attempt to press out bubbles.

Cleaning

  • Avoid ammonia-based or abrasive cleaning products.
  • Only use products safe for tinted windows, such as mild soapy water and a soft cloth or paper towel.
  • Scrapers or chemicals can damage the tint and void any warranty.

Imperfections

  • Due to the nature of the process, minor imperfections (small dust specks or particles) may appear.
  • Pre-existing flaws, scratches, or metal deposits on the glass can become more visible after tinting.
  • These are normal and unavoidable within the industry despite our best efforts.

DOT Matrix & Ceramic Edges

  • Many vehicles have black ceramic or dotted edges around the windows.
  • These thicker areas can prevent the film from adhering evenly, resulting in blurry or uneven lines near the dots.
  • This is a glass design limitation, not a workmanship issue.

Legal Tint Limits (Ireland)

  • Front windscreen: minimum 65% visible light transmission (VLT)
  • Front side windows: minimum 65% VLT
  • Rear & back side windows: any darkness allowed
It is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure compliance with Irish law.

Customer Acknowledgement

By proceeding with your appointment, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand all disclaimers listed above.
  • You accept that no refunds will be issued due to matrix lines, marks, or imperfections.
  • You understand and accept the inherent nature of window tinting work.

3. Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage, scratches, or marks
  • Damage caused by misuse or failure to follow care instructions
  • Legal issues arising from non-compliant tint levels chosen by the customer
